Before buying them a quad bike,motorcycle gloves, you must study the capabilities of your kids. How good is their balance, coordination and reflexes. Observe how they react to certain situations like their reactions when a breakable glass is about to fall or when stepping on a banana peel left lying around. How fast do they think and act to situations like that? If you believe they are capable of riding a quad bike then go ahead and find a kid-friendly bike for them. Quad bikes suited for kids are not the bulky ones, well; you can decide that depending on the size and build of your boys. An appropriate size would be best but how do you really know that it抯 the appropriate size for them? When you are buying a quad bike, be sure to take your kids with you. See if they can get on the bike and get off the bike with no trouble. Be sure that they reach the handle bars, control the wheel, and reach the clutch pad (unless the bike is automatic!), accelerator pad and brake pad. Check and double check parts especially the breaks if it抯 working perfectly. Many accidents happen because of defective parts. Of course, you need to check the parts always before your kids will go for a spin. It always pays to play safe than sorry. Quad bikes with safety cut off cables are the best for your kids. It serves as an emergency control when your kids get in trouble of maneuvering the quad bike. The remote can automatically shut the quad bike抯 engine off. It is important that you check the maximum distance for the quad bike remote to work properly. Make sure that you keep a close eye on your child抯 movements and acceleration. Also, be careful in setting the throttle control of the quad bike. This is one special feature included on a kid-friendly quad bike. The Throttle control which is usually a screw can control and regulate throttle power. With most bikes, you can limit the throttle power to 3 mph for a start while they are just getting the hang of it. Having a safe quad bike won抰 be enough and you must not be contented with having this idea every time kids ride the bike. Guide them always by reminding them every now and then to be very vigilant and observant of the things around them. Take kids to a place sensible enough to avoid accidents. Always ride in wide open spaces and far from the main streets, sidewalks or roads.
